Pieces - Chapter I
Preface; Whilst this may be a departure from what you might usually expect to hear from me when I send you a mix, I wanted to share with you some of my favourite musical ‘pieces’ from my very extensive library of records/CD’s/MP3’s and online playlists. I urge you to take time to listen to this mix, undistracted if you can… to find your own moments within it and I hope that it also challenges your current appreciation of music and takes it to a new level of enjoyment.
My moments; Respect to the original at 3m,That build up and drop from Baby Huey at 9m, Carole King’s voice at 11m and that guitar leading you into the piano and sax at 12m. The Stylistics. That sax at 27m, in fact… this whole 10-minute track from Alfa Mist… try and catch that snare! That vocal on Honeycomb at 34m. The jazz bass intro at 43m. Funk time at 50m with The 3 Pieces, warming up to Stevie Wonder and his amazing voice peaking to an amazing moment at 56m with the screaming harmonica solo. The beautiful sound that is Roger Fakhr on Lady Rain at 1h4m and a big slow jam finish from the Isley brothers 1h10m.
Runtime : 1h14m
Curated & mixed by : David Frampton
